Adam I would suggest that going in a group would be the way forward, have you considered an organised trip? 2004 TD5 Defender 90 xs station wagon

I've thought/thinking about it, I think I'd prefer the freedom of not being tied to an organised group. I'm more of a press on and do some driving than spending a day in a town for example.
There's also the cost saving, and I just feel it would be more of an experience planning it myself too. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty" 1958 Series IIA 109 Station Wagon - "Randolph" - Awaiting Restoration 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon - SOLD 2006 Volvo V70 D5 - Ocean Race Edition, SOLD 2003 VW Passat Estate 1.9TDI - SOLD 2008 BMW 320D M Sport Estate - SOLD 2001 Defender 90 Td5 Hard Top - SOLD |

Been twice now. Well worth the effort of going. Loved every moment of it. Had a few moments where I lost traction but then again I was in a heavy D3. Would love to take the 110 there but plenty of other places to go and explore 110 D250 SE HT

Morocco its a fantastic place to visit, I been 7 times already, all over, last one three weeks trip.
The solo trip its good, taking the family its a fantastic experience, even my son, was 5, he decide by himself to give away his toys and clothes to the bereber family were we stay. ( you can see his house in my signature). If I still living in Europe next year mid September October I will go for sure, that time of the year you can still find long days and good temperatures. What kind of trip you want to do, family or search for the worst and most difficult track possible. if you need some help let me know. Cheers |

Work on it Adam.......put effort into it and it will happen, it is my 3rd time their and the country and amazing and friendly to overlanders.
I suggest to you the classic one Ceuta- Chefchaouen- Fez - Azrou - Midelt- Erfoud- Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) from this point you can either go south and do the classic Merzouga Mhamid piste and from their head to zagora Ouarzazate - Marrakesh, again from there you can go to essaouira on the ocean and than back to ceuta. I am just giving you a general route which has alot of alternatives that you need to research. You can as well start with Chris Scott Morocco Overland guide book / Gandini as well / get your self a good map Michelin 741 and slowly you will figure out your own plan. I think as you said nothing better than to plan it your self as you will stick to the places you like more, for me for example i would stay 5 days easy in Erg chebbi to play in the dunes. If you need help with tracks let me know.. Happy Travel www.thegippo.wordpress.com |

I used 741
http://saharaoverland.wordpress.com/2013/0...he-sahara/ But in fact 742 must be more specific for Morocco. One last thing Adam it will much cheaper if you do it yourself besides Morrocco is not expensive if you are a simple guy and not fussy with Auberge or camping Happy Travel www.thegippo.wordpress.com |

I was thinking about this too
Would probably be two chaps in my 130 - I'd bring my brother along. I wasn't planning on attending any of the shows, but could certainly be persuaded if it meant the chance to make some plans for a trip. Joel |
