Not a huge deal.
Engine (the basic lump is the same. but the defender has different wiring loom on it), exhaust downpipe. transfer box (if it's got the difflock linkage on it) seats maybe, if you fancy grafting them into a defender. Some people fit the drop arm off of the disco steering box, onto a defender, as it has a normal balljoint/TRE not the circlip/spring affair that the defender had. engine ECU & 10AS alarm unit. A friend of mine in Reading breaks discos, and he usually manages to sell all the interior in ebay, and (if the bodywork is straight) most of that too. axles too, if they're straight, will fetch some money. Diffs are different to defenders (apart from the new type 110/130 rears), the disco /may/ have a 4 pinion in the rear. |

Are your sure? I though that the Disco2 had Rover pattern diffs (not P38), and that (subject to a flange swap) a Disco 2 diff would fit either end of a 90 or the front only on a 110/130. As far as I know they are 24-spline, two-pinion units (I've never met a 4-pinion Disco2 diff but that doesn't mean there aren't any). See also this thread - dilukabey has fitted a Disco2 rear in place of a broken Puma 110 front diff. |
