£3000 for a land rover to go to the Sahara... take your Visa card as what you will now get for that money will be barely driveable and will be lucky to be MOT'able as Land Rovers have gone up 20%-30% in the last year or so.. My mate has a nice hard top for that money with hundreds of new bits and new tyres but it wouldn't go to the Sahara without something big££ needed. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

i cant say i agree with you, obviously the whole vehicle will have a fine tooth comb going over and bearings changed etc, full service etc etc etc,
There are plenty of serviceable defenders out there for that money, as long as they are sound and solid in the essential areas, bulk head (which isnt to bad to replace), chassis etc every thing else is more than serviceable to for the DIY mechanic with this in mind, its reason why i have a £3k budget (+£3k on prep and equipment) thanks for your thoughts |

Hi I did loads of searching before we got the TD5 and again before getting the puma. Good luck if you find a decent 2nd hand landy for 3k even 6 will be pushing it IMHO. Sorry if thats harsh but it is also best removing the rose tints and save yourself some frustration.#
Good luck anyway 59 2.4 110 XS Utility 55 TD5 110 CSW Special Vehicle |
