LHD or RHD = Left Hand Drive or Right Hand Drive and basically means what side of the vehicle the driving seat is viewed from rear of the vehicle
LHT or RHT = Left Hand Traffic or Right Hand Traffic LHT = UK, Australia, Japan etc RHT = Europe, USA etc So Netherlands is RHT as a country However the cars in the Netherlands in general terms are LHD but RHD cars are legal and do occur in the Netherlands. Cars registered/owned in the Netherlands be they they LHD or RHD needs RHT headlights. How do you check what headlights are what? On the lens of the headlights there are lots of engraved/embossed symbols.
For a better explanation read THIS or this Or alternatively just buy from a trader that you respect and trust to understand your requirements. Brendan |

Hi Erik, like lots of things associated with cars, things can be confusing.
I knew there was a symbol on the headlights for which way they dipped, but until your post I had never bothered looking for an explanation of all the different symbols! So I have learnt something. I always checked the markings on the box, however have found out recently on a non electrical item that the box markings might be correct, the bag inside the box can be correct, but contents of the bag can still be incorrect! Have a good look around our website there is a few interesting items on there and even more we supply which are not on the website! ![]() When comparing prices from abroad just remember different VAT rates, Germany 19%, UK 20%, Eire 23%. (our prices include UK VAT), your bank will probably only give you 1.23-1.25 euro to £, bank charges and carriage costs. It costs us about 2-2.5 times the money to ship to Europe compared to the UK. All things to bear in mind. Brendan |
