Seems you can get a 12 year anti corrosion warranty on your Ford Ranger. Maybe we'd be better off if Ford had kept Land Rover! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

A colleague at work went out to buy an a new 4X4 - came back laughing at Land Rover's pathetic warranty package and promptly bought a Toyota (5 year warranty). Even then he was thought a 7 year warranty from some Korean manufacturer was more impressive.

If a company designs a decent product, ensures the components are quality items, assembles the product with attention to detail and ensures its sales/after-sales network is up to scratch - then they should be able to offer a lengthy warranty with confidence.

Then there is Land Rover .................

....and then there's people like us who buy the product. We stick with it through all it's vagaries and would feel ridiculous driving something else. I sometimes feel it's Land Rover Defender owners who need more attention than the vehicles. A seven year warranty would be a great bonus. Surely a 12 year anti corrosion warranty on something with as much alloy on it as a Defender should be a no brainer.All of these 5,7 or 12 year warranties have limits and exclusions but at least it is better than a three year warranty. If my Defender had a 5 year warranty I'd get it maindealer serviced for those 5 years.Still three years is better than the 1 year Land Rover used to offer. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Would be nice to think someone from LR was watching and listening to posts such as these. Agree with regard to the comments concerning main dealer servicing - maybe it could almost wipe it's own face.
