not to be the bearer of bad news.... but have you demoed it and fallen in love with it?
friend had one for 5 weeks before selling the exact frame didn't get on with it at all.. if i didn't have my current bike, which i'm biast too and have just bought it a new enve rear rim (saving for the front now) i'd be on a SC Bronson - after riding both back to back on the same trail im happier with my bike than the bronson (for me) |

I am new to Mountain bikes so I should be fine with this to get going, it will be mainly used on light trails around Winchester so I don't need huge travel in the suspension and I do want to use it on the road as well.
I am hoping this will make a good entry level purchase and if I get on with the concept of crashing up and down hills twisting and turning along muddy trails and having a blast .................. ooh I am looking forward to this already. |

Just because your mate did not like it means nothing (everybody's different) Trek and Gary Fisher make fantastic bikes |

i was under the understanding trek produced the gary fisher frames anyway? and from working in a bike shop i have a half decent idea of bikes people like / don't, trek's are an around average, few people are die hard fans, few people jumped on the band wagon and were disappointed. one to look for is the new merida line up (i have nothing to do with them) serious bikes with good kit for a good price.. |

Thanks Simon , will be in touch if i am in the area.
and yes pedals will be the 1st " accessory " to absorb my cash. I do get the Trek email of ex demo bikes and the discounts are very generous , I am sure there are bikes that are better made and fit a niche but this one should offer a well rounded experience at a good price point (I hope ). |
