I was about to buy a set of Climair to fit it on my defender. Before placing my order i took a look on how they could fit and then i saw this clip beteween the windown housing and the metal door frame.

Thanx Gum, i hear so often it reduces visibilty but i was looking into it more of blocking the spray of rain when you need to open the windo to dimist....
So if the deflector sits behind the clip, what you ae saying the the delector has some kind os groove in order for the clip to sit in and the deflector come out... Happy Travel www.thegippo.wordpress.com |

Hi
They fit in the windows channel, the clip you have pictured doesn't get in the way, I've had them fitted to my TD5 and to m current Puma. Some people like them, some hate them, I can't stand not having the window open and they do keep the spra and wind out. |

If they are the genuine Climair then you have nothing to worry about as the Climair's moulded shape takes this clip into account and is moulded around it

Correct.fit around clip, but do follow the instructions for fitting. Silicon spray is useful and ensure the deflectors are warmed up before fitting, to room temp as it makes it easier to bend them.

I found them to be a pita, reduced visibility and generally distracting when using side windows, sold mine on after a few months .. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

What worries me is that is that my eye vision is almost at the same height as the top door bar, i beleive most landy drivers experience the same.
does this become annoying with this reduced visibility? looking to the passenger side mirror do you get a clear vision? Happy Travel www.thegippo.wordpress.com |

I had some on my Disco II and whilst they were good at keeping the spray off you when driving and the ability to leave the windows down slightly when parked and not get a wet seat in our British summers I must admit to being a little gratefull when the one fell off the drivers door. With the curve of the plastic it did make it a tadge strange to see through, being tall and wearing glasses compounded the effect. I will not be putting them on my Defender, I've lifted my seat and I'm looking through the top of the window, also as I greenlane a fair amount they will get scratched of that there is no doubt and would soon become an issue.

Had them fitted for some time now and find them excellent, likewise my wife has a set on her Freelander and also likes them.
Yes they are moulded to fit around the clip. Fitting takes a matter of a minute or so (I spent longer cleaning the glass & channel than it took to fit the deflectors). They can be in the line of sight but I don't find it an issue as although they are smoked they are transparent. I found it more of a problem when I had a set of seat riser-rails fitted but these sat me too high for comfort (I was looking directly into the door-frame itself) so they were removed anyway. i fitted them on the outer channel.
So you don't have a problem with that piece of wedge shape. that's there to help push the glass in while winding it up. try running down the highway at 70mph and putting up your powered windows without them. ask me how i know. good : you get to leave the window down slightly when parked under the hot sun you get to roll down the windows about 1 inch even in  rain
you get enough air in when driving and not ruffle the fur of the wife / gf bad : the plastic in the channel does tend to crack due to that extra 2mm being wedged in between vision of the PS mirror gets affected slightly, but it's ok the curved on the top does affect vision when you are seated up high but i'm happy with them. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At �125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island. |

I fitted a pair of fronts and backs a couple of months ago, mine have a slight tint. Seem to work ok, my only criticism is at speed, the window seems to rattle against the stop when it's just open.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but sherifsalem, did you fit these? Did you put them in the inside channel or the outside next to the door skin? |

sorry mate cant help you on that as i have not fitted none of the 2 types. But i can recomend Climair have seen it fitted since then. Since it was expensive it always was set as a second priority ...till now Happy Travel
