'Budget' sports seat options
So I know of the basic Recaro Sportster CS and the CSK SVX-style seats. I like the former, but not the price. And the latter are excellent on price but I'm not sure if I want (faux) leather.

Has anyone tried fitting seats from Renault, Vauxhall or others with Recaro seats? What about Cobra or Sparco seats?

But there seem to be plenty of vehicles fitted with after - market seats so it can't be all that bad. It's just a question of what alternatives there are to the usual suspects.

I have fitted full leather Recaros from a Sierra Cosworth to mine. However, it was part of a rebuild and I modified the seat box considerable to get them in there. Sure they could be made to fit a standard set up but they are thicker than the Defender type seats so you would sit higher than now.

I fitted cloth recaros from a proton gt of all things in mine, £90 for the pair Thumbs Up a mate has mark 1 civic type r seats in his, fitting of both is a simple, if a bit agricultural, plateing and welfing job.

Welding might not be a problem. It's just getting what I want for a price that suits. I'd love some Recaro seats but not at that price.

I have seen honda s 2000 seats fitted without looking out of place. They are a slim compact seat.

Hmm, the S2000 ones don't look too bad. And the price isn't hideous either. Will investigate further I think.
