As long as i'm not on call that week (no sure of the rota yet) then I'll gladly lead a group.

not sure that I will stop for a pub lunch though, IMO it takes too much out of the day (obviously that doesn't mean that if I'm leading a group they can't go!! Laughing )

It's usually an hour at least, sometimes two. that's laning time that is! Whistle

Yeah, maybe a bit of humbug.... but I work in pubs every day... last thing I want to do on a day off, out laning, is go to a pub... especially as I usually work behind the bar or in their attics, on my knees pulling cables or faffing about in the kitchens.... puts you off for life I tell ya! Laughing

Road Closurers
Hi all

I work on the plain everyday, and think the following information maybe of use -

Just to let you know the roads around Stonehenge have been changed, the road (A344) that ran past the visitors centre from the A303 has been closed to through traffic and has been grassed over.

Access to the stones is now via Airmans Cross, this has been controlled by security staff over the last few weeks, the byway that runs between the 303 and the 344 to the West of the stones has alo been closed.

A better place to meet would be the Carpark by the old Bustard pub, now called GUL.

I knew about the change of use on the road to the stones.

do you know if the byway that passes from the a303, past the stones to the camp is still open ?
