After doing a lot of digging around, it was pointed out that Land Rover Experience actually run expeditions in Africa.....
So, I stumbled across this, although it's Botswana Expedition, if you are hiring an expedition Defender, you start/finish in Jo'Burg. This is right up our street...... http://www.landroverexpeditions.co.za/expe...estof.html Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Hi Mike,
Many thanks for the offer of help! Currently still have no plans for this year. We've so many places to visit and things we want to do, we haven't organised anything as yet. The Kruger Overland will probably not be this year now, but is still on the tick list and I'll certainly get in touch when we've an idea on what, where, how! My pleasure mate, Kruger is a very special place.
Good luck with your to do list - sounds like mine. I run a school so I'm blessed with school holidays and even then I can't find enough time to do all we want to do! We have just returned from a fantastic southern Africa trip, We rented a self drive LC 76 from Bushlore, they had 110s & Hilux available too. Johannesburg in to Botswana, Vic Falls, Caprivi Strip in to Namibia & eventually back to Joburg. This was my 3rd trip to SA & my wife's first. We loved it so much we are now looking in to shipping the Defender or getting something local.

Really pleased to hear you had such a good trip. South Africa lends itself to travel by Defender.
If you ever get a chance watch Henry Cole's World's Greatest Motorcycle Rides - the series he shot in South Africa. Probably one of the best travel documentaries on South Africa that I've ever seen. I know it relates to bikes (nothing wrong with that!) but it also gives great coverage on off roading opportunities. Hope to see you on the road here again soon.
