Hello all,
Another new 110 XS SW owner here. Just picked it up on Friday.  Click image to enlarge Spent yesterday giving it a proper clean underneath and inside the various box sections in the chassis and would like to get it waxoyl'd / dinitrol'd before they start salting the roads. Looking in the various magazines, I see Before'n'After, Nene and also found my way to CSK and Rustmaster. I've read Zagato's thread on rust prevention and see a few forum members offer the service as well. It will be cleaned regularly and I was thinking I would just want to get the chassis, bulkhead and any other steel components protected rather than the whole underneath. By the time you've done those you've covered virtually the whole underneath anyway. Nice truck Darren

Thanks for the replies. It isn't something I want to do myself as I'd rather pay someone who knows what they're doing and not end up with more on me than the chassis. Every time I do anything with POR15 or epoxy I end up with it on my hands, in my hair etc,
Just wondering if I've left it too late now, as the chassis isn't going to dry out very quickly if at all now. I see some companies do chassis treatment all year round though. Who is regarded as the best at this? Last edited by milesr3 on 18th Nov 2013 1:08pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Mine going in next Monday for Dinatrol at Killer90 Chris. They are not due to salt the south until late next week I believe but you are not too late. 1951 80" S1 2.0

Have done a few searches here and elsewhere and have narrowed it down to Rustmaster and Rustbusters (rust.co.uk). Currently favouring Rustbusters as it looks like they take at least 2 days to allow it to dry, treat the rust and then use unthinned Dinitrol. Plenty of examples of their work with different vehicles and organizations on their site, but they don't seem to have been used much here or Landyzone. Odd.

Got it clayed and put a couple of coats of Autoglym HD wax and some ACF50 on it today. Think I've found the last of the mud hiding in the chassis too, ready for Dinitroling.

Miles, done quite a few Dinitrols now, 24 hour service to allow for cleaning/drying times
Ill post some photos up of Familymads tomorrow as his 110 is in along with another 90 aswell CSK Automotive

Mark Kelly in Tavistock may do underseal protection, he's certainly a very good mechanic so maybe worth a chat to or Roger Young do as well now and I've heard good reviews for them. However, I drove from Devon to Chris (CSK) as I was passing and was very pleased with the results. |
