It's awesome, but I'm dead if the wife ever works out how much I've spent on it!

Drove to the post office & paid another year's VED Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Finished installing the new fog lights via the fog2 switch, completed the wiring for the heated mirrors and fitted the Mud Puma Pod after cutting out a slot for the Scangauge. Bad light stopped play so will post pictures tomorrow. _______________________________

Changed all the axle/suspension bushes. Replaced like for like OEM. What a difference, back to firm driving again, no steering shake when I hit bumps or cornering. One thing I did learn (I was using a 2 post lift), was to hold the axles in place with cargo straps before removing the bolts, using the LR tie down points. Makes a big difference when trying to realign the bolt holes single handed.
Oh and a 15t hydraulic press makes light work of pressing the old bushes out and the new ones in. |

Changed the fuel and air filter on the 110. Last done 11/11/12 or 7224 miles ago. Amazing how many little stones end up in the bottom of the air filter box. 1999 Defender TD5 110
