Two phrases come to mind from this post:

Would I swap my Puma for a Mastiff? "I would rather slam my balls in a door"

and as for looks "The designer stood back and was happy with his creation......his guide dog threw up!"

As for me, I'd rather walk than drive a Massif. In a spandex jumpsuit.

hmmm...
Well, we were looking at one before we bought the Defender and the main reasons that the Iveco lost out was...
1. no 7 seats
2. no leather or seat warmers...a must for here
3. no rear quarter windows or whatever you call them
4. no jungle windows above the 2nd row seats ( one probably doesn't call them that either)
5.leaf springs versus coil (older technology)
6. wheel tire look
7. Engine size...what was out there would have been a lot more in taxes
8. funky headlights really have to grow on you....like mold on the tomatoes in the fridge
9.Landrover repair is all over the place, as needed, and Iveco is not...
I am sure the list goes on...but alas, why continue.
oh yeah...
10. they don't have a cool website like this one!!! Thumbs Up 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately)

Beyond all critics Im sure it is a fine car.

How about water-oil leaks, transmision clunks everywhere, body panels tolerances, drive train strengths, price, etc Puma 110" SW

Or take the body off and replace it with a Defender one Very Happy

Oh, and swap the chassis and suspension.

And possibly change the engine and drivetrain to one that you can get supported.

And lose the badge.

And don't tell your friends. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Don't worry mate I have been in exactly the same boat including the water in the fuel issue....and fighting about the breather location...I know exactly where you are coming from and I sympathise with you entirely.

its hard for other puma owners to understand if they have not experience such issues and such appalling customer service

Having said that these days I have been getting treated much much better by my dealer.....however my car is also in the garage as we speak gearbox and trans out...I have also had 2 diff rebuilds and just about to have the third many many other issues including a new clutch oh and a new engine Laughing

However I would not swap my Puma I love it......I just happen to get one that was built on a Monday morning

"What a 'throw away' comment, unwelcome and unwarranted without explanation! I'll do it for you....I believe your woes were attributed to water being in the fuel and from limited detail of posting Land Rover (James Edwards) not accepting liability. Why should they? Surely the place you filled up at are at fault for supplying you dodgy fuel. Apart from a corrosion issue that you had back in October (which one assumes was sorted) the issues you have now are down to you putting dodgy fuel in your vehicle. If the modification to the breather had indeed been done as the dealers imply the petrol station has liability.

Assumption I know but without more detail in your posts or conclusions to your problems being posted what can one think? Trade it in for an Iveco but make sure it's sorted first as you'll not get 'top dollar!'

Would not trade mine in for an Iveco. I Love my Defender, no problems whatsoever. Happy days. Thumbs Up"

Why I am not happy with James Edwards Chester.

Corrosion not sorted, partial repairs (rear quarter panels and one front wing) have been done but the repair is so obvious especially the line of rivets where it should have been spot welded. The corrosion in n/s front wing dismissed as must be a stone chip, even though I had to remove protective vinyal for them to see it.

Land Rover customer services confirmed that mine hadn't had the modification done before it went in to JE so I mentioned this to the service receptionist who immediately replied "yours has been modified already", I think she might have checked first. If water has got in from contaminated fuel then OK thats my problem but i think they were too quick of the mark in dismissing the possibility that it could have been as a result of the fuel breather position.

Same faults keep reoccurring clutch (x3) but now they want me to pay to investigate the same fault.

Droning rear diff replaced twice and still noisy.

Prop vibration, it must be your tyres even though they are new.

I have lost track of the number of parts replaced.

Too many problems and I have now been left without even a courtesy car to use whist they stiil have mine.

Not my idea of good customer service.

Bad Service? Take Your Business Elsewhere!
Geographically we are generally fortunate enough to be able to choose which dealer we use. If you experience continued bad service at a particular dealership 'take your beef' to a higher appropriate authority and find another dealership.
You now find yourself without a courtesy car.....Why?
Marks you indeed have sufferred more heartache indignation and poor service than I ever would! Your solution would indeed probably be for the best if you were to trade her in for an Iveco Mastiff or any other marque of vehicle for that matter.
Just do it quietly!
I sincerely wish you well in your plight and am sorry for the saga you have sufferred, why is it after experiencing such p155 p00r service at a particular dealership that you are continuing to put up with it and using their services, surely you cannot expect anything but bad service?
Question Question Question If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
