Sad news I'm afraid. Bryan Avill a member on here passed away last week. He was walking to the pub to meet his son when unfortunately he had a heart attack and died in Pokesdown, Bournemouth. He was in his mid-seventies.
Bryan was a prolific Land Rover owner having owned and driven the marque in different guises for many, many years. I used to post on his behalf as he was not computer savvy.....
Bryan was a talented man a shipwright by trade and latterly a builder, I live in what he and his family helped create, a monument to him perhaps. Bryan lived in dungarees, always with a tape measure, pencil to hand and a magnifying glass in the top pocket, checkered shirt, boots in the Winter, sandals in the Summer. He will be laid to rest in the attire he was comfortable in with a little loose change in his pocket to buy a beer perhaps. Always ready to give advice, lend a helping hand he exuded enough confidence to get you to attempt jobs you wouldn't have dreamed of taking on prior to seeking his advice. Best of all he was my mate and I shall miss him dearly. I give my heartfelt condolences to Rita his wife, Daniel his son (with whom I served in the RAF) and Benjamin his younger son who will I am sure become as talented as his father in the building trade. Apologies to all Forum members for my post on a wet Saturday evening but he was in my view worthy of mention. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Last edited by K9F on 10th Nov 2013 4:17pm. Edited 2 times in total |

Sad news Mal. Bryan sounds typical of the unassuming but very accomplished and generous type of man that seem to be few and far between nowadays. Im sure his positive influence has had guided and helped you over the years and that is something you will no doubt cherish.
