Mal,
Thanks for that, I managed to pop back the OBD but cannot work out a way to either pull the OBD clear or route the actual Scangauge connector so they will have space to fit. I must be missing something, can't see the wood for the trees..... Gary _______________________________ Puma Defender 90 |

You're welcome. It is fiddly but I initially manipulated mine so it sat behind the original mounting orifice. Nevertheless I have subsequently moved mine for added security and made it very difficult to access.......

I fitted my Scangauge II on thursday and was struggling but found a solution. If you unscrew the Torx screw that is holding the OBD bracket, then use a screwdriver to release the OBD port from its metal bracket you'll have more room to move it. I did have to move a relay just so I could get the OBD port past it then could attach the plug. Hopefully the photo below helps
Click image to enlarge You can see the OBD port connected to the plug to the right of the last relay. Click image to enlarge I routed my cable behind the steering column. I have read some posts on this forum that show slightly different ways to attach the cable to the port but can leave a slight bulge in the fusebox cover. Luckily this doesn't! 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold) Looking for another to replace it. The road less travelled.... is a muddy one! |

Use an OBD " Y " connector. It has 2 female connector and 1male connector. Move OBD plug to behind speaker. Plug into Y connector. Route 1 of the limbs back into fuse box and with a bit of gaffer tape etc: it an be fixed in the original OBD socket position. The other limb of the Y connector is then available to plug the Scanguage in. It is then easy to plug the vehicle into a diagnostic computer as the OBD connector is easily reached, but remember to unplug Scanguage when using diagnostics as it can screw up the readings etc. LANDYWATCH

Just an inoffensive Q, why are people still buying scanguage, when you can get good bluetooth OBD2 connectors and phone apps like Torque?
So much better than what's offered by scanguage and no wires that need routing? Cheers Steve |

Steve,
No offence taken will all do things our own way, I had looked into various options and it's the way I wanted to go. Also as WelshGas said, my phone is just that and I do not connect my iPad to my vehicle, that's in doors or a bag. Also it will stay hard wired in position and I don't have to try and multi task I leave that to SWMBO. _______________________________ Puma Defender 90 |

If trying to use the WiFi connectors on iPad do you have to have an app too or does it work through browser path?
Some extra info especially live info would be good. How about security I assume it's not something that can be left connected all the time like the Ultra/scan gauge. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
