I removed the gauge from the Landy and for interest sake plugged it into my Hilux and all it got was "connecting" message and eventually timed out but never managed to connect to the puter - (2008 model)
Then I tried the second cable which has a few more pins and that never made a difference. Then refitted the sscanguage to the Puma and tried the cable with more connectors and started the engine. The battery light stayed on and the temperature shot into the red. Reconnected the cable with less pins and all is well again. Was wondering why it never connected to the Toyota and why the one cable sent the Puma on a trip. Any thoughts from those who have these gizmos. |

So far it has just been another toy to play with and interesting to see fuel consumption on the go and other engine parameters.
I did notice however that when I pulled the fuse on my ABS to disable Traction Control the guage never registered any fault codes. Not sure if it should have. But I guess it will pay itself when something does go wrong in the bush and you can reset or faultfind the codes. Regards |
