A few months ago an Irish fellow in a transit stopped outside while I was on the drive and offered me cash for mine, said he needed a towing motor, and wanted to look round, I too declined

Yep, I'd be concerned for sure. Sadly, these days it pays to have a suspicious mind.
Could have been sussing out your home situation (camera's/security lights etc etc) and then hoping for a good look around the vehicle itself in the hope to spot any obvious signs of extra security. Wouldn't hurt to flag up a description of the bloke to local plod on the non emergency number 101. If nothing else, you may get feedback from them as to whether this has been a regular occurrence recently. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Luckily it was at work so dont know where its kept overnight,
All our offices look onto each other with the carpark in the middle so anyone can see if somone is looking at it too much.. Even so, gets your back up. must admit, I've been looking at discovery 3-4's all afternoon. Shame there so damn expensive! |

A couple of years ago SHMBO was in her 300tdi 90 reversing up the drive when a builds pick up pulled across the drive blocking her in, two blokes got out and walked down the drive, they got what appeared to be a shock to see her and she asked politely (I think) what they wanted, one said they wanted to but it now for cash and how much did she want for it, but this time I had made my way down stairs and out of the front door. They got an even bigger shock I was read for work as was she we were both Police Officers, I spent most of the afternoon shift interviewing two Irish builders, while she went pocking around there caravan and the site they were on. The cells were full that night and the courts next day and a lot of property, including 3 land rovers, was recovered Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
