Suspect EGR valve ..Do I need to replace before ECU disable?
I am suspecting that some poor performance issues are caused by my EGR valve.

So a quick question .. Do I need to fix it before I do an ECU disable ?

Thanks

(Had a similar issue with my last car. Convinced it's down to poor quality Morrisons fuel Mad ) 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Not if its mechanically closing and closed before you apply the electronic closure. If you are unsure you could blank it also for prevention.

Morrisons fuel won't help you are right Thumbs Up

All UK fuel must meet British and European standards - EN228 for unleaded and for diesel EN590 - which could explain similarities between brands. Retailers can add a cocktail of additives to boost performance, however.

The key is the additives and if you recall the saying..... You get what you pay for Wink

Are you using the 5% bio or the B30 that the can sometimes offer without you noticing? As the B30 has a much higher bio fuel content which can be detrimental to some vehicles......

It would appear that much of the fuel we use in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland comes from the one refinery at Grangemouth that has been in the news over the past fortnight. So is the only difference between BP, Shell, Tesco and Morrisons diesel a few squirts of some 'additives'?
