You usually only need to unbolt one end, provided you can rotate the shaft.
However since you need to unbolt one end to articulate the joints fully and apply full movement to the splines you have to do this to grease the shaft properly anyway. |

This very cheap mini-grease-gun will allow a proper shaft greasing much easier than standard size grease gun (manual or pneumatic).
The supplied alloy tube, thanks to the small size perfectly fit to any nipple of the front and rear shaft. |
