Frustration Greasing my shaft
Well I thought I really should try and lubricate the driveshaft UJs before winter, three of them were fine, if needing to move the car slightly to get the nipples pointing in the right direction. The final one next to the brake drum was a total **** it was aiming into the spider of the joint so I was unable to get the grease gun on it....it wouldn't tighten enough to get to the next correct location, so i thought I'd loosen it slightly, this simply resulted in grease shooting out of the threads rather than going into the bearings.

it looks as though the only way to grease this UJ is to remove the propshaft....bl**dy annoying !

You usually only need to unbolt one end, provided you can rotate the shaft.

However since you need to unbolt one end to articulate the joints fully and apply full movement to the splines you have to do this to grease the shaft properly anyway.

This very cheap mini-grease-gun will allow a proper shaft greasing much easier than standard size grease gun (manual or pneumatic).



The supplied alloy tube, thanks to the small size perfectly fit to any nipple of the front and rear shaft.
