not technically today but last night had to pull a motor out of a very boggy field - tyres disappeared into the mud and was drastically trying to get grip - the motor i was pulling out had flat tyres so that didn't help but the land pulled through after engaging low ratio and diff locks, the land i spent 5 hours cleaning on sunday is now caked in mud the joys of land rover ownership 110 Hard Top - Izmir Blue

Got halfway across an awkward road junction this morning when there was a dull thud and no forward motion. Quick engagement of the diff-lock and went on to where I was going, only another mile up the road. I was thinking half shaft, CV joint but luckily it was the teeth stripped out of a rear drive flange. I'd replaced two on the back about 6months ago and it was one of those, bit of a really but it's not given me much confidence in Bearmach, still dug out a worn one I took off but chucked in the back "just in case", slapped that on and away we went. I'm still not convinced on getting a Heavy Duty set, I'm happier changing a drive flange than a half shaft or worse still something deeper in the drive train.

Fitted my new bonnet security hinges today (thanks again Brendan)
Very pleased with the finish on the hinges and they fitted without any need to adapt the bearings as they fitted in the curl hinge without any problems. Additional Silkaflex and ball bearings and now far more secure than the original fittings. Yesterday I fitted the new locking cubby box (thanks Matt). Very pleased with the finish on this too and its much more substantial than the old OEM box Great service from both 4x4 Overlander and FCX respectively |

Took it for a wash to the local UN cleaning station, normally a great job, but today just okay.....so washed myself again when I got home, then decided as I was bored I'd polish it as well. _______________________________

Notice my clutch Master Cylinder is leaking...again. So ordered a genuine LR one. £72 + VAT! now I need a dry weekend to do the job in-between, decorating, testing radios for the rally, dialling into works servers to make sure all is well and removing floor boards. 1999 Defender TD5 110
