Not today but saturday - went across the field to watch a couple of stages of the Sunseeker Rally in our local woods, never been before and had quite a good day. No crashes which was good, but a few got a bit more sideways than planned I think
Even saw a few of the British Army rally team with their not very tuned up landies (300 tdi I was informed) seemed to be going quite well and all finished by the looks of it A bit of video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYG5zZCW6WU Bit dark and shaky I'm afraid but hey ho. Took "Larry" for a full truck wash; very impressed... up onto full height ramps, on with a traffic film remover, full underbody wash, then back down for engine clean prior to then being soaped & then finally another jet wash all for £35 inc free mug of tea
Ps they can also do waxoyling by prior arrangement (I've no connection to this business) just thought I'd give Norridge based Def2 members a heads up Contact Kevin @ Norwich Truck Wash Burton Rd Business Park NR6 6AS tel 01603 408188 "Ease your worries, Clear-up your woes, Go into your garage & put stuff into rows." |

Sought out West Country Land Rovers...who are equipped to do a full Dinitrol treatment. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Went to Silverline Wheels in Warwick to get my woes sorted out on my new wheels (not from them). Tyres off, reseated and a rebalance followed by a smooth cruise down the motorway without the parkinsons effect .. happy.
Great people .. recommended. |

Got pulled over by the police on one of the multi agency exercises - had the tank dipped by staff from HM Revenue & Customs road fuel testing unit and then spent 25 minutes waiting for a poice officer to check my vehicle before being told I could go as he appeared to be throwing the book at a young chap in an old Corsa who had defective lights, bald tyres and a number of other things wrong with his car!

Hello,
yesterday my new bonnet hinges arrived. Thank you Markus for the great job . I was very reserved, but at the end I'm happy that I've ordered these . They look very well, with coded screws. The packaging was very efficient. All screws are incl.. Now I must wait for my defender, because it's in the garage for a few small works. I finished wiring up my heated front screen that I got fitted by Landyglass at the LRO show last month. The mobilecentre loom that I was supplied as part of the deal was great, all the cables had enough length to work comfortably without having huge amounts of excess to tuck away. It even came with the right switch etc for the Td5 dash, which looks right at home next to the heated rear switch.
While I had the dash apart I decided to fit the aux lighting switch & cables to the battery box (where my aux fusebox is) to make fitting LED spotlights a bit easier- in theory all I need to do is connect the relay next to the fusebox & remove the binnacle to find a headlight warning feed, then take the spotlight feed along the chassis rail & up to the rack. No pics as it was p'ing down by the time I finished. Mark S CONVOY for HEROES www.facebook.com/convoy4heroes www.lothian4x4response.org ------ Td5 90 Thread in 'My Defender' Forum |
