leeds,
Practically speaking, is there a difference once these are fitted and focused? We genuinely don't see a difference in our RHD 110s fitted with the LHD JW Speaker units, and yes, if it is a dangerous exercise we would really love to know. ****CENSORED**** |

I agree RockJaw, I know a few defender owners (in the UK with RHD JWS 8700s) and have traveled around Europe without changing their lights or putting deflectors on. the beam is so precise on the 8700s - none of them were stopped.

If there is no difference between the LHD and RHD units why do the manufacturers make two different types?
Yes people might get away with the wrong ones fitted, without type approval etc. Just like people might get away with drink driving, using mobile phones whilst driving etc. Police and insurers are getting more clued up on different things. Local police pulled someone on motorway recently for towing a boat trailer on motorway. Many points later for driving on motorway on a provisional licence (no towing entitlement), no insurance (no valid licence) a few ££ later and increased insurance premiums. Am sure he thought he could get away with it. IF people wish to deliberately break the law so be it, however I would not recommend deliberate law breaking Brendan |

We have a RHD Defender registered in Sarasota Fl. with LHD lights fitted.
The law says we have to use components specified by the VEHICLE manufacturers, but that would endanger other motorists who all drive LHD vehicles. Which headlight components would you fit? ****CENSORED**** |
