Clutch Advice Please!
I have a 2009 puma and my clutch was changed when it was around 17k but now again i am getting this bad rattling i suppose from the clutch at 45k. Also i noticed sometimes it slips the 1st gear. So now i thought of changing the clutch p.n LR012199.
Since it has done less mileage for a new clutch kit replacement, could i just survive by swaping just the clutch only or should i replace the whole kit?

Cheers. Smile

Kind regards,
Diluk

Hi Diluk,
Given the work involved I would change the whole clutch kit and not just the clutch plate. Its false economy to replace just the plate on its own as you could have problems later on with clutch drag for instance by the fact the clutch cover has done lots more miles that the drive plate. Also if it has been suffering from clutch slip the cover is likely to have suffered heat damage and could be warped leading to a judder when pulling away! Hope this helps! Regards
Donald

Many thanks for your valued info Donald. Appriciate that! So i think i better off getting the whole kit.

As far as i know you need to buy the the plate, the cover which refers the clutch kit part no as LR012199.
But then how about the bearing? Microcat says input shaft bearing part no.LR004390. Then another related part is clutch slave cylinder part no LR031455. Are they both related? Should i buy either just the bearing or the slave cylinder?

Appriciate your replys. Cheers. Smile

Kind regards,
Diluk

Hi Diluk, Sorry for not replying sooner but I have been on holiday for the last couple of weeks so havn`t been near a computer. Sound advice from dieselhead as you really want to replace everything at the same time to avoid having to take it all apart again in the future when a reused part ends up failing.
