I wouldn't have that Kahn one if it was free, ridiculous price too boot. Not a big fan of the Kahn Defender full stop if I'm honest.

It is not an overly difficult job to cut a standard bumper and insert the DRL's yourself for a fraction of the price.

Alternatively Mobile Centre do a standard bumper with 1 x pair of round lights:

The majority are now moving over to 'aftermarket bumpers' which are 5mm thick (LR are nearer 2mm) with Ring 'rectangular' DRL's fitted, we supply the Flatdog ones:

I make this bumper and have sold 2 to members recently . It's 8mm but could do a 6mm , with either square or round holes to your taste . Top Quality LED units , painted matt black , and holes for the end caps and spots . As original look . How would £400 posted sound ? I will make one and show it .

I got mine from here :
http://www.outbound4x4.co.uk/shop/exterior...-light-kit

Can be bought as a kit or as a complete bumper - and there is room to fit fog lights in as well if needed (I'll probably be doing that soon)
They are much cheaper than the Kahn ones! Thumbs Up

Some interesting comments re prices about LEDS and specifications of bumpers.

To a certain extent you get what you pay for. I know the trade price of some LED DRLs is more then the retail price some companies are charging for bumpers complete with LED DRLs.

Specifications of bumpers? Am not sure what thickness steel LR use for their standard bumper, yes it can rust, yes you can bend them. There may well be a good reason for making them bend! Could mention energy absorption.

Winch mounting systems are typically made out of 6mm steel plate.

Yes you can make a bumper out of 6/8/10 mm steel. Apart from weight consideration what about energy absorption? What would you prefer to replace in the event of a front end collision? A mangled LR bumper or a twisted/bent chassis?

I used Nakatenenga finishing rings and a tank cutter to drill the standard bumper, I could have used DRLs filling the holes, the standard bumper dosnt rust quickly if you Zag it, these are driving lights DRLs would need to be nearer the ends

Hi there I love the look of the driving lights in the bumper, do you have any links for where you got the stuff to do this, I did a search for Nakatanenga driving lights but didn't really come up with anything.

sorry spelt name incorrectly links below

Leeds sells Nakatenenga stuff, although I ordered mine direct, the driving lights filling the holes are Ring from Halfords they do fog as well, there are round DRLs the correct size which from memory was 70mm

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic15026.html

I used Ring driving lights in my bumper and Nak finishing rings (which like all Nak stuff were expensive but well made) I considered fog lamps nearer the ends of the bumper which I thought would be legal but realy wanted more light for country lanes not for fog.

I drilled all the holes in the bumper myself except the 4 big ones but only because my piller drill was too small I brought a cutter 2mm bigger than Nak recommends and slipped the local engineering firm £20 to drill them for me. Im very happy with the asthetics. As I used the standard LR spot light loom I changed the 55w lamps to 35w but they still make a big difference, If I had 55w in each lamp which would defo need a bigger fuse and possible be outside the standard LR loom wire capability Im sure the Improvement would be even greater

total cost was
Genuine LR loom £120 with dash switch (Paul on here does them made to order much cheaper and with thicker wiring if required)
Driving lamps are Ring from Halfords circa £25 for 2 (were on offer at £15 last week)(see the NAK site they use Ring as well and list DRLs for this application)
Tank cutter and arbour circa £20 (starrett) there are cheaper makes
Labour for cutting holes circa £10-20 or do it yourself if you have a big drill
Nak rings circa £80 (check the NAK site memory poor)
Plugs to fit onto lamps that match LR loom circa £5
Stainless nuts bolts and washers for mounting circa £2
to be fair the finish on the holes in the bumper was brilliant and a bit of paint on the exposed metal would have negated the use of the rings, if I was doing it again I might save a bit of cost there

where I put mine gave me a number plate issue and the position shown of the photo was a temporary fix. Fog lights and DRLs need to be towards the ends of the bumper.

Loads of people comment on my bumper and I was offered £300 for it by a chap who likes it a lot, the wiring loom was the most expensive bit, if you want a genuine one they are expensive the cheapest I've seen one go for is about £60 DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy
