Rear power - purple/green
I have seen all the posts about the purple wire in the rear offside light box that provides always on 12v in Pumas.

In my TD5 I have a purple/green wire (with an associated black wire), it doesn't seem to have any power on it so wonderered which fuse I should check. I assume it should be powered in the same way as the Pumas..?

Cheers

Simon

From memory, it's the 20amp fuse for the towing electrics under the drivers seat - second one up from the bottom in this picture:

Thanks, I've checked all those and they seem intact.

Is this powered all the time, or is it only powered when the engine runs? I found something in the user manual that suggests it may only be when the engine runs.

Will check tomorrow.

Cheers

It should be permanent live. It certainly is in my '05 TD5 and everybody else who's used them seems to have found the same. Darren

Hmm, I'm wondering if I have got the right wire. This one is green/purple, not solid purple, so I might be looking at the wrong one. A job for tomorrow.

Cheers

If it's mostly green with a thin purple stripe, it's a brake light feed.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Yes, realised I'd picked up the brake light (I assume the 3rd light in the rear window, mine's a van so not used)... Embarassed if I pressed the brake peddle it did light my work light..!

I found the purple wire, actually covered in a corrugated conduit, however it's still not working. Anyway, I'm running a 2 way switch from the front to rear so I don't need the rear power just yet.

Cheers
