Cool. now you know what you're doing, we'll all be round for some advice.
BTW: Have you gone for two identical batteries? What split charge system have you put in place? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Hi Al...2 identical batteries, used a voltage sensing relay from Devon 4x4 as the split charge that you can see in the pics...nice and neat as you only need to feed the positives off both batteries into the unit and then earth it Does all the rest for you You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things |

Thanks for that. I wondered what the voltage sensing relay was for It looks like a very neat installation. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Paul,
Odyssey 1500s approx £200.00 each Voltage sensing relay £150.00 D44 battery carrier £47.00 Cables, terminals etc £50.00. 3-4 hours to fit including the winch but i took my time, all the connections are heat shrinked and all components proffesionally crimpt If anyone wants theirs done, drop me a PM, one of the chaps on Freel2 has access to all the connectors, cable, etc so just supply your batteries and some terminals and he will install for you As a quick point..you do have to replace or extend the standard earth cable to allow it to reach the 2nd battery and the install is very snug to say the least, not much room to play in there!. What you cant see in the pics is a live take off going under the drivers seat to a fused distribution point that will allow me to wire in additional spots/worklights etc without the need to feed into the battery box. You can also mount this in a cubby box as it makes it easy to run switches from the dash under the carpets and into the cubby You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things |

yeap nice install...
cuzzy, i notice you used the original battery clamp to the primary battery, the stock one. on mine i had to take of the fused clamp backing, cos it mounts off the battery on the other side right, Q: did you have to cut off the original lug and replace it with another because it was coming in from another direction to that fused carrier does that make sense... only i don't want to do it again on my new one.. al. |

Al, I wanted to keep the original mega fuse and Landy wiring so i looked into what batteries i could use where i didnt have to mod. My original optimas didnt fit due to the position of the terminals and one was pretty tired anyway, so i decided to take the plunge last year and get some of the odysseys...they have sat in my garage since!! I had to turn the fuse around to get it to fit but apart from that all good Did you drop the window guards off today on the Alisport stand?...i couldnt make the show unfortunately You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things |

guards dispatched of course...fancy not making a trip out...you lazy toad
last saw them on the allisport stand, god knows where they are now or how much sonic made on them... as for the battery clamp jobbie, thats good to hear then, my mistake first time round , were you able to use the original alternator feed wire lug and re-dircet it into the new postion on the mega fuse battery carrier, as you likley know now, it's f'ing tight in that compartment box. |
