I'm assuming you have 7.50 tyres on currently from your description.
The current Boost alloys for the XS etc come with 235/85 16 tyres which are the same overall height for gearing. Going wider then 265/75 16 should also be the same height. Personally I don't like rims too wide and would go with Wolf steels or Boost alloys. John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

Yes, currently 7.5 x 16.
Hmm now how do I decide between 235/85/16 & 265/75/16 ??? I gather that Wulf max width is 6.5, which means 235 max width tyres. So for the 265 then a different brand. How about: http://www.4x4tyres.co.uk/defender/16inch-...-1304.html |

A few months ago I put standard boosts and 235/85 BFG All Terrains on my 2003 110 in place of the skinny Michelins.
Huge improvement. Quieter, more grip in the wet and smoother ride than the Michelins. They fitted fine but I did have to adjust one of the turning stops as the wider tyre just grazed on something at full lock. If you go 265 without spacers, maybe you'd lose a bit of turning circle? I imagine the difference between 235 and 265 is pretty much just cosmetic and the 235s look pretty good in my opinion. Take-offs and others come up in the For Sale section on here from time to time. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop Now a 2013 110 USW too. |

Pretty sure 7x16 is the standard rim size for 235/265 tyres, you can get 8 inch rims but are wasted on 265 tyres, Boosts are a 7 inch rim.

There are many, many threads on this forum on this subject, and several in which people have posted photos of different wheel and tyre combinations, which are ideal for getting a preview of the appearance of the various options.
For what its worth, I run 285/75x16 BFG Muds on Boosts with 30mm spacers with no issues, and 245/75x16 BFG Muds on genuine Wolf HD rims on a trailer, again without problems. |

I think official max for 6.5s is 255. Some people put 265s on them, but I wouldn't like to get insurance involved in that situation.
Wolf rims, on 235 85 BFG ATs is what I have...can't fault it 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |
