Latest selection of Stolen LR's posted on LandyWatch
Been a bit busy recently, so not had time to cross post much here from LandyWatch.

Following is a brief summary of recent thefts/attempted thefts in the past two or three weeks that have posted up on LW (in no particular order).

Yorks/Humberside
10th Oct - 110 White stolen from Darwen
7th Oct - 90 Red Td5 stolen from Mansfield
9th Oct - 110 Puma stolen and recovered in York (recovered thanks to tracker - brand unknown)
3rd Oct - 110 Green Tdi stolen in Sheffield
13th Oct - 110 Td5 stolen and recovered in Skelmanthorpe (no extra security - thieves abandoned vehicle)

East midlands
25th Sep - Light Blue SIIa stolen from Careby

North West
6th Oct - Black Td5 90 stolen from Penwortham

West Midlands
10th Oct - Blue Td5 90 truck cab stolen from Knowle
11th Oct - White Tdi 110 SW stolen from Witney, Oxon
13th Oct - Attempted theft of Defender in Lower Shuckburgh. Thieves beaten by Disklok, pedal lock and gear stick lock (guessing X-Eng??)

East of England
10th Oct - Disco stolen from Stoke Holy Cross (very limited info)

South East
7th Oct - Green 130 tdi tipper stolen from South Godstone
24th Sep - Black 110 SW Tdi stolen from 'Kent' (no more detailed location info)
Today - Attempted theft of Defender in Reading station car park. Thieves beaten by Disklok and 'Ardcase pedal lock. Secure cubby box jemmied open but nothing taken

South West
12th Oct - Light Blue 110 tdi SW stolen from Frome

In most cases, info on extra security employed (if any) is limited to non existent.

Things seem to be stepping up a gear again... Sad Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Not good at all.

Got to think something organised is happening. Tie in the amount of thefts in Yorks ? Humber and the bonnet thefts is like a mini hotspot at the moment.

Is it more prevalent in Yorks/Humberside due to proximity to the docks and rapid transport out of the country..?

Something needs to be done, I'm scared to leave my Defender anywhere these days (and I've had a Defender and Disco 3 stolen previously, so know first hand the hassle it causes).

For a start 2 of places it says are in Yorkshire/Humberside are not in Yorkshire...
For another thing, all of the places listed as Yorkshire/Humberside are pretty FAR from any docks, not close to them.

You live in the Peak District Simon, I'd have thought you'd have a better idea of the geography of that region!

And a few more......

16th Oct - Attempted theft of a 110 in London area - thief gave up and nicked somebody elses. Pic of thief captured on CCTV (limited details)

2 recent thefts in Staffordshire - Black 110 in Hanbury (no more details) and Grey Puma 90 (2.2) in Sudbury (again limited info but I think that's the first 2.2 Puma I've seen reported pinched on LW)

16th Oct - Black 08'plate Puma 90 pinched in Monmouth - piccies on Landywatch.

Currently, no information received if extra security on any of these. In the main, they're cross postings from Facebook and LandyZone. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

one of my customers had his 110 utility stolen 2 weeks after he collected it from near Stevenage last weekend 2011 with standard security 2008 110 2.4 XS Utility (Hagrid)

18/10 Stolen from Newton le Willows - Red/White roof 110 Td5 HT

20/10 Stolen from Kings Norton - Blue/White roof 90 Tdi HT

19/10 Stolen from Sindlesham - Green 90 Tdi HT

24/10 Stolen from Lemington - Blue/White roof 110 Tdi SW

29/10 Stolen from Wyberton - Black RR

28/10 Report of a Red Transit suspected of 'casing' Defenders in S20 postcode area of Sheffield. Reg of Transit S21 UBY. Two blokes mid 30's - Police have been alerted.

27/10 Stolen from Iwerne Minster - Epsom Green 90 Tdi. Crook lock on Steering wheel and second from clutch pedal to steering wheel beaten.

31/10 Stolen from Billericay - Epsom Green 90 Tdi SW

1/11 Report of Puma bonnet / doors pinched in S35 area of Sheffield (Colour not specified).

Unless reported to contrary, assuming all vehicles were fitted with factory security only (in whatever guise that was) Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
