Mounting a Scangauge
Can anyone advise?
I want to fit a scangauge and I think a Mud pod on top of the centre consol would be the neatest way. However, it's not clear if the Scangauge can be flush mounted or whether a bezel is available to neaten up the instal. I'm sure I saw a photo on the forum of a Scangauge mounted in the Mud pod but I can't find it now. Any info or advice much appreciated.

I don't know whether this is yours Andy, if not perhaps the member who posted the picture could tell me how it was accomplished?, I have spoken to the UK distributors! UKODB, and they cannot help though they were interested when I described the mounting to them. I assume that the bezel can be separated from the body and the console clamped between the body and bezel of the scangauge?

Another alternative worthy of due consideration perhaps is the Scangauge Blendmount Kit....

I used it and the Scangauge sits on top of the rearview mirror, out of harms way and out of public view.

Hi K9F,
I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that the blendmount doesn't fit properly on the Landrover's mirror?, mines a 2010 Puma, if it does fit then I agree it would be a great place to mount it.

From another thread. Pictures were cleared out sometime ago. With a little ingenuity and adaptation you end up with a discreet but easily viewable unit.

Pop glass back in secure Scangauge to mount and click back into place in the vehicle...

Finally (unless you want to cut a hole in the access door) undo the screw securing your OBD diagnostic socket and remove the driver's speaker, feed Scangauge connector through speaker hole and connect up to OBD connector. Secure dismounted OBD connector with tywrap(s). Run cable up behind dash up door pillar (same route as remote unlocking range modification (if you did it) over sunvisor and connect up....Job jobbed!

I cut the Mud pod very tight and it's just pushed in, then I put a very large O ring around the front pushed back against the pod but it was so tight it wasn't really needed
Great bit of kit It's good to be back from the dark side
