Have a look at nearest the firewall / bulkhead. I believe LR are good at taping them down just out of sight. Probably hidden. No Guts, No Glory.

Had a good dig around and can see wires coming out of loom to feed wiper motor, but nothing else.
Should they be there on a '56 reg car?? Thanks |

As far as if am aware some do and some don't. You can add your own though which wouldn't be too difficult, also giving you the chance to use high quality wire which will be useful. No Guts, No Glory.

Would have thought so ......... Do you have the other wires for the head unit ??? It is pretty simple to run new wires for the fronts anyways Just run them in this void simple. IIRC ordginal wires came down from up by the wiper motor. Think I can just make then out tapped up. 2 other black wires are for old mobile phone aerial

Okay, plot thickens - I can see that the front left and right "leave" the big black plug, but not sign of them by the wiper motor - I am just going to re-run a new wire, then as you say, I can put in better quality.
Now for the scary bit - cutting a hole in the trim |

If your not the only owner it may be possible that they were cut off. No Guts, No Glory.

As Steve said earlier, they are probably taped up somewhere out of sight. I found the passenger side ones easily enough but the driver's side were well hidden - It must have taken me almost an hour to find them Eventually I found them taped to the back of a loom up against the bulkhead. The connectors on the end of the wires had been completely taped over so I couldn't see them. Unwrapping the tape in that confined space was fun!
I was initially worried about cutting the trim too, but if you follow Jim's advice in my thread you won't go far wrong |

Thanks for all the help - stereo now in and working fine - I did end up finding the drivers side speaker wire, but re-threaded a new wire for the passenger side
Need to decide on the next project now Click image to enlarge |
