Ladies and Germs,
Due to there being a forum member from the continent holidaying in Wales I am putting together a trip over a few lanes- nothing too taxing but a great morning/ early afternoon out and about. Anyone available is more than welcome to tag along- Yes it is short notice and a week day, but this is the way the cookie has crumbled. MEETING: Lampeter Co-operative car park. There is a butty van there for those who wish to stock up on bacon rolls before heading out. Very easy to find- you can't miss it. Postcode for Sat-nav: SA48 7AF. Click image to enlarge START @ 1000. ROUTE: B4343 NE to Llanddewi Brefi- first stop for those who want to take photos by the sign.........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrlzaBNgz-M Soar y Mynudd green lane. Strata Florida green lane (south to North).... END approx 1400 ish: Strata Florida abbey- after doing the lane several times I have never really had the chance to have a look around the abbey which I am told is quite impressive. LUNCH: Feel free to bring pack lunch- there will be a stop at some point... weather dependent, or cafe/ pub at the end.... will decide on the morning. Please express interest here and pm me contact details Glyn |

We had a really lovely day, many many thanks Glynn and navigator, for being our guides on this fantastic day out!
Great challenging lanes, wonderful scenery, superb landscapes and even dry sunny weather! Thanks again Glynn! Click image to enlarge We learned a lot this day, the Defender's capability keeps surprising me! I even earned some bonus points by completing the "bomb hole" Click image to enlarge Thanks again for a great day! (I will post more pictures and video's after I have processed them at home) Cheers, Vincent 1959 Polynorm 1/4 Ton Trailer, Olive Drab Green (sold) 1970 M416 Military Trailer (Camping Trailer Conversion), Epsom Green (sold) 1975 Series III 88 V6, Light Green (sadly sold) 1996 Defender 110 CSW 300 Tdi, Epsom Green (sold) 2000 Freelander 1 TD4 3-drs, Silver (sold) 2006 Freelander 1 TD4 5-drs Facelift Automatic, Tonga Green (sold) MySite |

I am glad that you and Elise enjoyed your day. We had a great time too so thank you for coming to visit which encouraged me to get off my butt and plan the day , here are a few pictures of the day- I am trying to sort out a 'drop box' so that I can send all the pictures that way.

Unlucky- it was a perfect day for laning and the route involved the perfect amount of water. Have a good journey home Glyn :sheep: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

looks good, did strata and wayfarer the other day in my dads new D4 ('13 plate - scary!) the other week.
some of the deep water bits were a bit hairy but still good fun & D4 coped astoundingly well! recognised a lot of it - definitely didnt have the balls to do the bomb hole but a couple in the group did Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Yes, you did!
Bought the GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition just a few days before, so this was my very first experience with it. I really must clean the windscreen better or mount it outside on the bonnet, the quality is so mucht better - mind the video you saw is compressed for upload to vimeo. Uncompressed on the TV screen at home it is great! Some nice new things to explore and play with in the future BTW Simon, how is your storage project doing? Storage project is still ongoing....have cut holes in it to lighten it and am finishing the painting. Will update the build thread soon. Nearly ready to install.
Also about to wire a few switches in the rear for work light, interior lights and power for the cooler. Pics to follow soon. Cheers Simon |
