Toyo Open Country 255/85 R16s Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

I agree with GUM97, I recently got mine, 265/75/16 bf Goodrich all terrain and find them excellent both on and off road.

Thanks for the feedback - I am going to keep an eye out for some nearly new tyres - not sure I can justify another big spend at the moment, so my wife tells me .

If the 90 was originally fitted with 205 tyres then when changing to taller 235/85 16 or 265/75 16 you need to change the speedo drive gear so that the speedo still reads correctly.

General AT2 265/75x16 is a nice fit and gives great all round grip, a better tyre in the wet than most.
I have been using the newish General MT on my 110 racer and can't believe how tough they are, Rallye de Cimes and now the Dunes et Marais with no tyre problems and no punctures. Andy. www.ajstyres.co.uk 01737 241370 Junction 8 M25 Surrey. |

I changed from BF Goodrich All Terrains to Cooper ST, the Cooper are brilliant tyres and would go for 265,75 which will look good on your 90.
