Are they really worth it? is the bodywork that they're bolted to, strong enough to sustain the weight of the vehicle against a tree?

Yes, they are worth it if you don't mind the look. Function over form, etc, etc....!
I've got a full set down all doors and rear tub. The rear tub ones saved the side windows from getting smashed and the side of the tub getting ripped out after I hit some ice last winter and slid down the side of a tree. Scary stuff, but it saved many ££££'s in repair cost.

Got my set from Extreme4x4. Like I said, not everyone's cup of tea looks wise, but they do the job

Loads and they're really really ugly......so I've heard living below the great north south divide. Pigeons fly backwards there too to keep the 5h1t out of there eyes due to industrial pollution apparently.

well my current thoughts are they have got to help, at the moment my doors are getting a right pasting when too close to trees, so am thinking tree sliders on the rock sliders and some door protection. they have worked well on the truck cab. Cheers
