Hardwired my el-cheapo heated seats into some switches on the dash console and now opened a whole can of worms on other switches I've previously put in. I knew I shouldn't have tried to rush it, damned school runs! Still a job for Saturday along with replacing the abs shuttle valve solonoids that arrived today. Hopefully that will sort out the re-occouring illumination.

And did a nice BDR repair on the coolant pipe that decided to split open in the middle of nowhere. Still, managed to do 114 miles beforehand. Had a gentle slow drive back home with the coolant filler cap loosely fitted so the system didn't pressurise and blow my bodge repair apart. Think I'll be getting a new pipe tomorrow and possibly pulling the head off to see why it keeps pressurising the system |

Tried to fit the defender into the garage today so I could check the oil level. Everywhere else on our drive slopes in one direction or the other. Had to empty the garage as we don't use it for vehicles.
Where it ended up was on flat ground so I was able to measure the oil level anyway - after all that I didn't have to put any in |

Steve, seems easier said than done. Any ideas? You will remember a thread about exactly this that I started long time ago and which received several followers, including you, and also some encouragement from potential suppliers/site sponsors,.... but then it went quiet. So seems not an evident thing to do. Guess the SVX style front is still a too limited potential market for companies like Speaker to engineer an easy fitting solution, even if they already do have 90mm high beam LED lamps in their assortment. Here is the link to the mentioned thread. Guess more people would be interested, so maybe we have to revive it.... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic16121....lights+led You never actually own a Defender. Took out the twin USB socket, put back the land rover connector as the new Garmin Satnav wont allow the traffic to work with the hard wired TomTom one I had previously fitted. The connector is the same but it kept warning of incorrect cable, read the instructions and it seems it will only work with the cable in the box which only fits the original outlet. _______________________________
