Hi
I will be looking for one of these shortly. Are yours a branded model or have you got someone to make them up for you?. Not looking forward to chopping up the dash but have a spare head unit with sat nav, blue tooth etc so it'd be a shame not to fit it. Cheers Defender 110 xs Utility B8 RS4 Bright orange exige |

i had a go at fitting one of these...
'twas a right pig of a job! you only get the lower half of the centre console (ie you dont get the vents and clock surround bit) and you have to plastic tack weld the aircon control / temp guage clear lettering bits onto the back. Most of the wires also need extending to reach the switch relocation panel, which isnt supplied with a template to help you cut the big hole in the dash! best off getting a land rover workshop like Mud/NeNe/Twisted to do it IMO Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I was toying with the idea of doing this, however due to the location of the standard DIN in the Puma and the way that LCD screens work, I find that the display on the current aftermarket head unit is only visible if I scrunch myself really low in the seat or lower my head below the dash - not ideal while driving.
Has anyone got any experience of the visibility of the LCD double DIN screens from the standard driving position? |

Click image to enlarge Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img] The setup Works great. No visibility issues With the screen. I also fitted a rear wiew camera which comes on as I Select reverse and a Bluetooth handsfree. If Your car is pre 2012 you have to cut the original plastic to keep the bit surrounding the top vents and clock. You can see the gap from the Picture where mine was cut. |
