I have the phase7 on my 110 in OZ, the trucklight does not kick up on the left, but the ADR only states that they can't point to the right, the truck light has a straight beam, according to my understanding of the ADR's the light does not breach any regs, also I have been stopped for speeding and 3 booze buses ( random alcohol and drug testing) and the plod have not complained. Of course this is just my opinion, I bought them for AU$450 shipped to my door, I would only have got half a speaker light for that.
As for quality, I have no issues, they look great, have never failed and the light is much better than the original, even with a wiring upgrade and Philips bulbs. Fitting them was easy, they just fitted!! No wiring issues or anything. Anyway just my 2 bob.. To the original question I do not have an answer, the do not have a side light in them and I have never seen the plug on the back of the light on a xtech Pat Last edited by patclan on 3rd Oct 2013 10:09am. I guess you get to buy in the UK so returns will be easier, but 600 quid is not cheap, I bought mine from a Harley dealer in the us, arrive in OZ within a week. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TRUCK-LITE-2727...257db09535 |

I travel to the US every month, so I looked into buying JW speakers in US. US dealers can source emarked units, but it requires a direct factory order and speaker charged a ~$250 premium. I suspect Truck Lite maybe the same, but don't know for sure. So if people are shipping, adding import and VAT taxes, difference won't be worth it I suspect.

The older design of Trucklite LED lamps were not EU approved and were only ever available in LHD format.
The Lamps MUD are selling are of a different design. You can tell the difference between the two versions. The original Trucklite lamps had a more 'blingy' jewelled appearance. The new lamps look more like a standard headlamp. I was looking at the Trucklite lamps on their stand at the Commercial Vehicle show in the UK back in May. |

We have the US spec 8700's on our vehicles in Florida and the same spec on our vehicles in Australia.
We know the US spec 8700 in our Australian vehicles are not legit but so far it has been impossible to figure out what the difference would be if we did replace them for the proper RHD version. Even though we know the design has a slight angle bias, either left or right, depending on US or UK market, but once fitted and focused there is absolutely zip zero difference visually between them. We are going to keep the US spec units in our Aussie Defenders. ****CENSORED**** |
