There is only one colour for a Defender and that's green!

wot he said...
same applies for a FFRR I would say You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

@supacat, don't know if there is evidence, but I only meant to say that even a higher depreciation wouldn't steer me away from a colour I really like. After all, you're probably be driving the car for a few years.
My van almost needed a service. Those calculated costs combined with the higher discount I could get on the Defender with the Orkney colour made me decide to go for that one. Otherwise I'd probably went for Keswick. White roof and HD wheels! Non metallic colours somehow suit Defenders fine. |

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm becoming even more confused now though as I haven't seen a 110 in Firenze Red in the flesh but admit it does look nice in a photo I have seen online - especially with the black roof.
You're right, you can't get a white roof on an XS but the dealership offered to paint it for me (for less than the cost of a contrasting roof from the factory!). The heavy duty wheels are a no cost option. I did initially think I would go for the Utility 110 XS as I don't want the third row of seats, but I really want the windows in the back, to make it nice and light inside and give it better visibility. Looks like it's coming down to the Aintree Green or Firenze Red at the moment! |

It seems that a 110 Utility probably would be a better bet for your requirements - seems daft to pay the extra for the additional seats, only to remove them from the outset. I suppose you could always sell them as brand new take-outs, but it would be a very limited market given that there will be others doing the same thing!
An alternative would be to go with a utility and see how you find it and if necessary add rear windows at a later date. This has the benefit that you can choose from various rear window options, including Landyglass, rather than standard LR windows which tend to rattle like hell after a year or two. Just a thought. Also, another vote for Firenze if you're going metallic - there's a 110 SW near me in that colour and I always think how great it looks whenever I see it. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green |

Red with a black roof or blue with silver - or green and white, for me.
Not what I actually have, mind you. 2009 110 XS Station Wagon |

keswick green, white wolf and white wheels just looks the absolute business to me.
Otherwise, firenze red for a fancy colour. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty" 1958 Series IIA 109 Station Wagon - "Randolph" - Awaiting Restoration 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon - SOLD 2006 Volvo V70 D5 - Ocean Race Edition, SOLD 2003 VW Passat Estate 1.9TDI - SOLD 2008 BMW 320D M Sport Estate - SOLD 2001 Defender 90 Td5 Hard Top - SOLD |

Hi .. I had the same decision a month ago when I bought my 110 SW, admittedly second hand. I was totally convinced I wanted a Orkney grey one, but there are so many around now so have ended up with a black one .. love it.
I also have back problems and have recently installed some better seats from Exmoor with lumber support .. much better. |

A poverty-spec Defender is still luxurious compared to a Series vehicle.
Click image to enlarge I love my S2A but must admit I love having a heated front windscreen and heated seats in the 110XS. If you are going any distance in your Defender, I would recommend a bit of comfort, since you are likely to have it for a good while. 1970 Series 2A 88" |

Another for green. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender |

We have ordered our Keswick 90 with an Indus Silver roof. We thought that the Indus would complement some of the "silver" parts,...alloy wheels etc.
Cheers, Pickles. |
