Issues fitting RSB Rock sliders
Sorry guys i know lots of people have been talking about rock sliders, but i seem to be having some issue with fitting the RSB rock sliders to my defender 110. The front bracket seems to be out by 1-2mm hence it wont slot on and the middle brackets don't want to go all the way down the side chassis member as they have uplifted sides.

Has anyone fitted them before and if so, have they any suggestions? Photos are attached, of said issue

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I fitted some from RSB to a Discovery once they took some work to fit as I remember. Have to say I was a little disappointed. You will have to grind the lips off the chassis outrigger and I'm sure the couple of mm can be taken up with washers or a hammer on the bracket. Sometimes these cheaper items require abit more work on your part! 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

Guess I'll cross them off my makes to consider list. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

There is so much variation in Landrover chassis dimensions that a side bar which fits one LR perfectly will be quite loose on another and so tight as not to fit on a third. Parts makers do their best to offer compromise solutions but the only way to be sure something will fit your car well is a bespoke manufacture.

I'm still tempted by Safari ones, & if they are a perfect fit for Pumas, I'd get them. A lot to spend otherwise... Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. I have the RSB sliders fitted to the TD5 90.

I was pleasantly surprised, total job took a couple of hours and a lot of that time was getting the bulkhead bolts undone. Mine fitted without any trauma.

Where do you buy Southdown from? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Well i would like to thank all those who helped and in the end just a little bit of brute force was needed with a small amount of sanding on the front bulkhead spacer!

Anyway i would just like to say thanks to RSB for producing some great sliders and great value for money. I will finally get to see what they are like in 2 weeks time when i go to Strata Florida in Wales.

For anyone interested here is the link to the company in question:

Southdown used to be run by Dave(?) who used to make extremely good protection and guards. Have an original Southdown tank guard on our red 110 with detachable tow hitch and it is a great bit of kit Thumbs Up

I understand he got fed up with people ripping off his designs and under cutting his prices.

I understand that Terrafirma have bought the rights to the Southdown name/range.
