Cleaning a DCPU Plastic/PVC Canopy/Tilt
Mine seems to get dirty quite easily and holds the dirt in what is quite an open mesh pattern when looked at close up. I also have run lines where the water runs off the roof of the canopy and stains down the sides in a number of places.

Ordinary car shampoo does not seem to lift the dirt and I'm a little concerned about using anything stronger in case it actually attacks the plastic.

Any recommendations?

I got a auto gleam kit from my moto factors. It had a soft top cleaner and a seperate waterproofer. Came up ok with a bit of work. I did think of trying a tent company like blacks of Greenock as they make canvas tents

The issue is the "new" tilts are not made of a traditional material such as canvas and so the use cleaning products do not seem applicable?

Do you mean mohair roof or the industrial Vinyl type that adorns yer typical MOD landrover, either way try something from here,as with everything "fabric" don't use to high a concentration as it could make the fabric brittle.
Haven't used any of these but detailers recommend it.
You also need to seal it after,it will help keep it cleaner.

Kitchen general spray diluted 50/50 with hot water, spray and use a non stick scouring pad, should work a treat.

I have used Muc-off with good results in the past, also great for cleaning your headlining.

Its used for cleaning down mountain bikes any bike shop should have it
