After 4 years of the utility wagon, my wife wants her 90 back (we sold it to get the 110).
Land Rover's price list "off road pack" (£1500) specifies: "heavy duty steel wheels– all Terrain Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Traction Control (ETC), heavy duty steel wheel – Goodyear MT/R Tubeless tyre, tow ball, drop plate with electrics and under ride protection bar" which seems a good deal since abs/tc is £1390 alone. Do the anti roll bars only come when alloy wheels are specified? Thanks |

Hi mate , I'm wondering why you would want ARB's whilst specifying the off road pack ? They will only hinder your ability to go off - road . If you really want em on then I will sell you the ones I took off my new 110 as I put on HD ones for the road .

Well, we want abs and the pack seems good value, as I need a towbar anyway and the uprated wheels are a bonus.
The vehicle will be used 95% on road, if off road it'll be nothing hardcore. So I'd rather have them than not. Thanks for the offer, I'm not sure if 110 arbs will fit the 90 though. I could ask the dealer this question, but I found on my last visit that I knew more about defender spec than they did... |

You need to be doing 'serious' off roading before ARB's will be a hindrence
I fitted a set to my 90 about 3 years ago, completely transformed its road manners and hasn't had any noticable effect on my [sometimes severe] off roading forays Front ARB is the same on 90/110 models , the rear is different HTH Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

I removed mine recently after one side of the rear one flipped over on a laning trip (a rear shock broke and a spring dislocated over extending the axle) and I've found articulation much improved. Very little difference on the road so no plans to put them back on.

What did your insurance company say when you told them you have removed the Anti Roll Bars ? |

X-Eng supply an ARB disconnect kit so you can have the best of both worlds

Get a ARB dislocation set off Simon at X-Engineering. Had mine on know for 14months and it really is an excellent piece of kit. When connected it feels stiffer than the standard LR supplied one and when switched off you have full suspension travel with no resistance.
The only problem is that it can confuse some MOT testers if you leave it off as they then think it is broken. |

Once I argued that they were an optional extra rather than a standard fitment (they hummed and arred at first) they were ok and neither that or the locker has affected the premium. |
