I'm no exper at this, but... Why not pull a bulb out of your VDO guage, and see how it compares to a Td5 bulb? An engine to TDi for!

Unfortunately, I don't think I have a bulb holder for a TD5 gauge... 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Td5 gauges use the small 1.2w 'wedge' bulbs. Usually sold under reference 286.
See here. I've had a couple of VDO gauges and both have used the same type. But the only way to know for sure is to take one out as above. |

Cheers. The TD5 ones are a white plastic screw-on round nut that retains them, which is exactly the same as my VDO ones I've got... 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top
