OK Only had a quick look on the Jeremy Fern website and found
OK only a quick look so might have missed the TD5 remap However JF only claim 250bhp on a 3.0 litre TD6 Range Rover. So for a TD5 to produce 300 bhp on what at first sight to me appears to be a non existent JF remap is very, very impressive!. A case of wishful thinking or have I seriously missed something on the JF website?? Maybe someone should ask JF what is the max bhp they have achieved on a TD5??? Brendan |

I'm sure one of the proficient tuning guys on here will correct me if I'm wrong but there is no way to achieve a significant increase in bhp just by chipping or remapping. Engine components of high quality and performance would have to be changed.
I recall reading a recent article in one of the LR mags that said 250bhp was pretty much the limit for a Td5 and that was with expensive components added. Even then, engine reliability could well be an issue I guess. I had a quick look at the JF website too and I'm inclined to agree with you Brendan. 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful 2007 110 XS DCPU - An itch that needed scratching 2005 90 Td5 XS CSW - Utterly brilliant 2001 Discovery 2 ES Auto - A phase I went through 1996 90 Tdi CSW - Uber reliable 1989 90 2.5 Petrol Hardtop - My first proper Landy 1985 Range Rover Vogue V8 -Troublesome |

It's now made it to £4100 with just over a day to go, and has reached about the price it reached last time when bex started bidding on it. It'll be intersting to see if the same buyer buys the same vehicle twice from the same seller!
I will watch with interest to see if we can determine whether the guy has multiple alternative personalities or just the two. |

I feel the need to qualify my original comment as based purely on looking at the pictures and reading the description without any of this CSI-ebay stuff Darren

LRA, I'm with you on that. Though not everyone's cup of tea if you really could buy it for around £5k you'd have a bargain!

I'm watching a set of wheels and tyres that are fairly local to me at the moment going very cheap. Looking at the blokes feedback I noticed he only bought them 6weeks ago and looking at the listing when he bought them for £220 the seller was in the same large village. What is even more amusing is that the bloke he bought them off must live so close that he must share his back garden as the pictures for the latest listing and the one 6weeks ago are the same, as is the description Just the sellers' names are different. Might play this one but it will be cash on collection only, wonder what excuse he will come up with

Well it sold for £6800, £1200 less than last time, oooops!
If someone has genuinely bought it then it won't be long before disappointment sets in with it being half the stated BHP. If bex has miraculously bought it for a second time, expect it to be related soon. Will wait to see who the buyer is and maybe alert eBay to the shenanigans. 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful 2007 110 XS DCPU - An itch that needed scratching 2005 90 Td5 XS CSW - Utterly brilliant 2001 Discovery 2 ES Auto - A phase I went through 1996 90 Tdi CSW - Uber reliable 1989 90 2.5 Petrol Hardtop - My first proper Landy 1985 Range Rover Vogue V8 -Troublesome |

Its just been relisted as a buy it now or best offer £7495. Looks like he`s had his mate (different one this time) bidding the price up or something equally dodgy!

Yes, there is once again a strong and unpleasant odour from this one. It looks as though the 'winning bidder' hasn't bought any any of his stuff before, but the only bidding activitiy in the last 30 days from the 'winner' was placing 10 bids on this vehicle.
The seller has relisted the Defender, which suggests that the transaction was cancelled, which is more likely to have happened by collusion between the parties. Also, if you look at the original listing's bid history, gues who was the other party bidding bidding against bex. Yes, you guessed, it is j***j, who 'won' this time. So the first time round I suspect that he had his mate bidding against his own alternative account to boost the price. It is possible of course that j***j is a genuine bidder who really wants this truck and has bid on it both times, in which case I imagine he's quite fed up by now. I would have thought that he would have smelled a rat when it was relisted by the original seller after apparently being sold to bex, though. |
