Wonder if there was any added security? There are even Defender owners who don't take it seriously with little or no safeguard against theft.

Bearing in mind the comments from the victim, I seriously doubt that it has any extra security.
Despite the fact that most of us have hatched evil schemes for additional security, the fact remains that we shoudln't have to. Landrover could be argued to have failed to build in sufficient security to begin with, but more significantly society shouldn't tolerate this conduct from those who steal things. Even if insured, it isn't a victimless crime and the ver growing community of law-abiding victims want to see those in authority taking it seriously, investigating, convicting, and administering effective deterrents to the criminal elements. Otherwise it will only be a matter of time before the victims start to take the law into their own hands. I will wager that 90% of landrover thefts are committed by 10% of the villains, and that they are almost all known to the Police. |
