Not a bad looking rig but 300bhp, that makes it special. Laughing

Looks "Halfordsy"/Scorpion Racing catalogue special. Not for me I'm afraid. Even with 300bhp. Thumbs Up

I'm not sure about 300bhp but I doubt much of that vehicle has come from Halfords. It's had a lot of money spent on it but I guess it's just not fashionable enough for this forum. Darren

There are several things that strike me as odd with this one, other than the vehicle.

The same seller "vortexa411" had it on ebay before, when it apparently sold on 13 August for £8k, see here.

If you look through the feedback history the vehicle was sold on that occasion to a user "bex1988uk" who left feedback on 22nd August for the auction "excellent ebayer. thanks". This same ebayer bex1988uk has bought an awful lot of items from vortexa411 recently and, surprise surprise, is also in Colne, Lincs.

Bearing in mind that the original seller of the Defender is now selling a second time, it would be awfully easy to jump to the conclusion that the two accounts are the same person and he is bidding on his own items and trying to manuipulate his own feedback rating.

Some of the other, apparently genuine, feedback for vortexa411 really isn't great.

Bad smell with this one! Even if I liked the vehicle (and it doesn't hit the spot for me either) I wouldn't touch this one with the proverbial barge-pole.

Edit - PJB, our posts crossed, you did the same detective work!

I don't think you've any risk of getting anywhere remotely near the 300 mark. Laughing

Blimey....I don't 'do E-Bay' and was just going to post that if someone was on a tight budget and wanted to perhaps get a capable Defender they may get themselves a deal as it seems a very reasonable price at the moment.

Eye opener for me. Shocked

Mal, yep 300bhp is way off the mark. That's internal engine mod territory and a bucket full of dosh. As far as I know 250bhp is achievable but even then that's down to clever mapping, hybrid turbo, and a host of other uprgraded external components. Anything above that requires stronger internals.

It seems the seller is something of a wideboy and best to steer clear. However, I might ask him how he managed to wring 300 out of the engine. 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful

You could also ask how many more of them he has, since this is already the second! Rolling with laughter

Here's the response.

"hi, its a td5 engine
with jeremy fern remap
pigi back chip
blanked egr valve
decat exhaust.
all professionally done.
take it for a spin if interested."

So there you have it. I reckon, at best, it's half what he's claiming. Rolling Eyes
