Back from the dealers...
Just got my 110 back from some warranty work. Mixed bag really.

Very Happy They accepted that the recall Q68 (software) hadn't actually been done last time when they said it had. The power loss problem that it was supposed to address had been the worst it's ever been after their last attempt. I'll monitor it now that they've completed the upgrade.

Very Happy They spotted that my air-con wasn't working and fixed that up for free. I'd not even noticed (not much call for cold air right now) but NOTE TO SELF: put it on for at least 10 mins every other week.

Very Happy They noticed that my number plate light had blown

Banging Head They charged me £13 to fit a new bulb (I should have said no but they phoned me whilst I was in a meeting and I wasn't concentrating)

Banging Head Surprise surprise, they failed to diagnose the passenger footwell leak - although they 'tested' it twice

Very Happy They found that the relay to my heated front screen was knackered and replaced it for free - apparently the problems I was having with my screen were all down to this.

Banging Head The problems I was having with my screen were to do with a stripe of wires not working - not the whole screen. I fail to see how the defective relay could have caused that.

Banging Head Some idiot sat in the passenger seat with oily overalls and left a nice mark on my seats

Very Happy At least I'd just fitted Melvill and Moon seat covers so I can take them off and wash them

Still, they were more professional than last time so the rocket I gave them before seemed to have worked. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Alan

As per the post on 'passenger footwell leak' I spent a good 4 hours on Saturday trying to see if the water leak on my vehicle was the windscreen or the foam seal. Guess what, not a single drop of water entered the vehicle despite soaking the complete front for 30 minutes !

However, one thing I am now suspicious of is entry/exit points of the windscreeen wipers. For about 5 weeks the passenger wiper has been making a horrible clicking noise from under the dash. After my failed leak test at the weekend I got into the vehicle and put the wipers on and the clicking noise had gone.

I am wondering if something went out of alignment on the wiper mechanism and allowed water in around the spindles somehow. Now the wipers appear to have gone back to normal there is no leak ?
This would tie in with the fact that I have had no problems until about 5/6 weeks ago.

All in all I would say that it isn't a bad result.

I have just had my 'water issues' sorted by my dealership. They had it for a day and ended up changing both the drivers and passengers door seal (cleaned up all the old selant and put on new) and touch wood so far I have had no problems since Very Happy Very Happy. I too thougt it was going to be something behind the dash because I was getting drips on my feet but looks like it wasn't.

Glyn

Try parking it up hill when getting it wet- when I parked mine facing down hill I had a fewdrops but if parked up hill it would be like a swimming pool in the footwells.

Water in the footwell...its taken a year, but eventually they fixed it.
Wing Off
Heater box out
Refit and seal

leak fixed - apparently very common, although i have no idea why they have been changing seals and adding sealant every other time! Mike

TJ101,

It's not the rear screen that I'm talking about. That might also be knackered but what with rear tyre, child seat, cargo barrier and window guards I can't really see out the back anyway Very Happy

It's the front one that's knackered. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
