Mine was done by Land Rover, they cut the 12v feed to the TC unit under the seat, ran a two core cable up to the dash and fitted a switch. Mines a 2007 but I'd imagine it 's the same principal.
I changed the switch to a Red carling switch. The ABS won't work with the TC isolated. Hope this helps. ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Why would you want to disable TC!? ![]() Simplest way is to remove the ABS/TC fuse. However, be aware of the consequences if you are involved in an accident: your insurer can refuse cover on the grounds that you disabled a safety feature -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged ![]() ![]() Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

It's specifically to do with sand driving, where TC can be more of a hindrance than a help. Darren

If you need to disable TC when driving in sand, you are doing it wrong.
When driving in sand: . Deflate tyres to 1.2-0.8 bar . Engage CDL . Choose correct gear and ensure you have momentum to clear the obstacle See: In all the sand driving I have done, TC has rarely intervened, and when it does it's usually when I'm doing something silly, like power-sliding across the face of a sand dune ![]() 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged ![]() ![]() Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Sometimes the TC can be a hinderance in sand. A couple of years ago several of us went to Morocco, 2 Puma 110, 1 TD5 110, 1 Landcruiser and my D3.
Going up a track off the beach my D3 sailed up with no issues, the TD5 110 sailed up but the 2 Pumas had issues, tyres aired down did nothing. Fuse being pulled solved the problem. So in that instance a switch would of been perfect. It was about the only time my D3 outperformed the 110's in the sand ![]() 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

Just curious if I do the 10 brake application trick does it reset when next ignition is turned on or do you need to apply brakes agian to reset or is this a permanent switch off. I don't want to try it and then have to go to a dealer to get the code reset ( no diagostic aquired as yet). Thanks

I tried this brake method, but found that TC turns on again after you exceed +/- 10mph. I couldn't keep it switched off.

Hi, My t/c resets at about 20kph also. Must be an ecu variation. Looks like the switch is on its way.
