Welcome to the Puma club Smile I have a 2.4 & love it. Only things I miss are the ventilation flaps under the screen, & a flat bonnet to put a spare wheel on, but thats just my traditionalist retro side. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Well, it arrived on Tuesday last week and I have covered just under 300 miles so far and my initial impressions are very good indeed, reasonably quiet, plenty of "pull" without the horrible dead feeling the outgoing Td5 had until the turbo was up to speed and the most startling thing is how improved the build quality appears to be compared to the old Td5 (a late 2003 '53 plate), it even appears to have paint on the bulkhead under the bonnet rather than just primer!

First day I had it Waxoyled by a pal of mine locally and he commented that it had been cavity waxed inside the doors at the factory and appeared to have been in the bulkhead and body frames (though not the chassis...). The heating and de-misting system is superb and the only thing I find a little disconcerting is the amount of induction noise under any load with the drivers window open!

Waiting for it once ordered is the worst bit, mine took 8 weeks or so...

I will take some pictures in the week and post 'em on here, it does look very nice in Keswick green with silver boosts!

Yep, I get that the induction noise is common to the 2.2's and the rev-hang thingy (which I could happily do without) but I am very impressed with the anti-stall for plodding round fields & headlands at tickover. The best bit though is the build quality as I say, having read comments on here I was expecting it to be a retrograde step after the Td5 (which frankly I thought was appalling on that front) but no - it's a great improvement (though maybe my old Td5 was a bad one/Friday build...)

I was lucky as my was an Approved LR. Day 1 told of it, day 2 test drove it, asked for it to be reserved, day 3 paid deposit.....following week went & bought it!

I was unsure, but even in standard form my Puma felt different & special to any vehicle I had driven before. Biggest engine, 1st diesel, amazing torque & the seat height giving views of the road ahead & scenery only my trail bike gave me before.

Never want a replacement, only additions....like a 110 Razz Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender
