You will have to paint them. I would suggest using a plastic primer (you can get it from halfords in a spray can) then paint over with whatever colour you want. I would also suggest a coat of lacquer as well. I did my wing mirrors only recently in this way and they turned out great...

If you paint them orange it will double the value of your Defender. Well known fact that orange accessories add value

If you're going black and want a good paint to spray them with look up Plastikote. I've used it on several accessories including lightguards, window catches and roof rack brackets. Stand up against the test of time and not difficult to achieve an excellent finish. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
