Switzerland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
Hidden gem
This morning on my bike in the next village to ours, spotted this hidden Swiss gem inside a farm barn Smile . I took below poor quality pic with my phone, whereupon the farmer came over curiously, and once I told him about my Defender which he actually had also seen many times parked at our house, he threw the barn doors wide open, turned on the lights and we had a nice chat about his 1968 series 2A, his now 16 year old Defender 90, and my still young SVX. Made a friend who knows everything about rebuilding gearboxes, engines, hot galvanizing and riveting. Most funny thing was that he had never heard of something like Dinitrol (he said the only anti rust that he knows is the hot galvanizing), so he will come over one day to take a look at mine. Thumbs Up

There are 4 or 5 series vehicles in various sates of repair in a farmyard on top of the mountain as you head to Chatel from the Swiss side of the border (from Lauserne). Saw them this evening. May try and get a photo this week as we've just trailered the bikes out here with the 110.

Another (different than above) gem spotted in my village today.
Before I get smart comments, I mean the green one with the tan hood of course.... Very Happy

We visited our daughter in Geneva last month and went for a walk around the vineyards near Dardagney. We just crossed into the small French village of Challex and spotted this...

It even appears on Google street view...Dropped pin

Sorry to drop in on your post, but hopefully it ties in and is just a cool story I feel.

I bought this off my uncle who did the resto on it. It started it’s life in 1955 on a farm for a decade or so. Must have been used as the chassis was full if seeds and grasses. But was also driven to the train station for a decade or so thee after by the same chap.
Then sold to a chap who was meant to use it on the farm, but basically parked it in the shed for a decade or so. One day a bush fire came along and the shed caught fire. Luck would have it that there was also a water tank on a timber stand near by which also caught fire. The stand fell and the tank hit the ground just on the corner of the shed where the landy was parked, putting out that part of the fire and saving the 107. The rear corner of the truck was damaged however and was the major part of the resto. My uncle is more so into old motor bikes, not Landies, and the resto was a just a gap filler for him. So after it was done it again sat in a shed for a decade or so.

I bought it as a novel thing, thought I was into series landies which I discovered I’m not, and sold it to an American who is a series nut. He came to Australia and drove it around the county for the past 9 months. I believe it’s now going to America. Not bad for a vehicle 59 years old and doing more in it’s old age than it’s youth. Sorry for the pic size, have tried several times but cant get them larger.

and it’s life over the past 9 months

That looks to be a 107" WB station wagon, a very rare bird and highly desirable. The 107" SWs were very scarce compared to the 109"s.

Building further this thread of nice LRs spotted in Geneva...

Yesterday on the way to the office I spotted another nice Series 2 parked at our local tire center. (and you will see in the pictures a working RR Classic too, I pass that one almost every day pulling boats to/from the yacht club)

And then today in traffic on the way to the office there was this Td5 which is from the village next door, even if it has a french registration... As often is the case with Defenders, driver is a well trimmed blonde lady....
