The Ram still is a well made universal (for smal tablets) solution. I fitted mine without drilling etc. and it still sits very sturdy:

Where did you get this from? I can't seem to find it on the net but looks really good.

I got it from www.rammounting.nl but any Ram dealer should be able to supply you. 2021 Defender 110 D300 HSE

Does it move/vibrate when you drive at all, the flexible arm looks very long?

I'll have to let you know tomorrow when I've driven it. DJs' report above suggests it's ok though. Darren

Tested on the drive to work this morning and it's pretty good. It sways a little bit over bumps - maybe 15-20mm overall - but my iPad 1 in its' Otterbox is a heavy beast. The ball mount is rock solid and the arm is very stiff but at 450mm long it's bound to have some play in it.

Over all, very pleased. Darren

I have the RAM one fitted to hold a playbook in an otterbox. It is a solid bit of kit but does vibrate due to the length of the arm. I did the same and fitted it onto the passenger seat mount. Next job when I get some time involves fitting one of mobile centres dual usb charging sockets into the GMB electrical box and running a suitable usb lead up the inside of the plastic tube so the playbook is plugged in and powered all the time.

Brian, if you do sharper bends then you will lessen the effects of vibrations travelling up the flexi arm.

Sometimes easier to bend it sharper out of vehicle using say a vice and oversized tube to get tighter bends.

Here is my set up for my iPad mini. I opted for the RAM mount and the shortest possible distance between attachment to vehicle and iPad to reduce vibration. Result is a very solid solution, on and off road. iPad can be facing the driver, or both driver and passenger as required. Very Happy

Just wanted to add a word of thanks to DJ for highlighting this very reasonably priced mounting idea. Bow down Finally got around to fitting it (in minutes as LRA commented) yesterday.

I've not used it in anger yet but for the money involved and ease of installation, it's almost rude not to give it a go. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
